I have a Server/Client network; several XPpro boxes, connected to Server 2003.
Normally I just go to controll panel, (on the Client) System, System Properties and either use the wizard by clicking the Network Id button,
Or, click the Change... button. In the window select the radio button for Domain, fill in the domain name, click OK then enter a user name and Password of an account with permission to join the domain and click OK again.
At That point I get an error message that reads;
"An attempt to resolve the DNS name of a DC in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configured to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain." |
