1. The one thing that I can see you can do is upgrade your RAM. Though Vista minimum requirements is 512MB, it's not enough. Ram does makes a huge difference.
2. Run Diskcleanup and Defrag utilities often; you can do that when the system is idle.
3. Change your Visual Effect to Best Performance. Right click Computer > Properties > Advanced tab > Under Performance select Settings > Select Adjust for best performance > Apply > OK to exit
4. Change Page file size to at least three times the amount of your RAM or more. Right click Computer > Properties > Advanced tab > Under Performance select Settings > Advanced tab > Under Virtual Memory click Change > De-select Automatically manage paging file size for this drive > click Custom Size > Enter the amount you want to allocate to both Initial Size and Maximum size (Note: Enter same amount for both) > click Set and OK (You may have to restart your PC) Sorry Snnuffy, I didn't notice your reply
