Do you have Explorer set as default to open .avi(s). ?
It really should be default to WMP11, and have WMP11 check for download all codecs automatically....
try and open WMP11 first then open the avi and see if it plays.
If WMP11 is not what you like or want to use... the DL and install WMP10 which works very well also...
