You did not mention wether you were installing Office from a server or a CD-ROM, so I'm assuming you are installing it from a CD-ROM. Reinstalling the program may not solve the issue unless you remove traces from the previous installtion. When you uninstall, the program leaves certain files in your PC, especially in the registry. When you reinstall, it uses those files again and the problem may continue.

1. Uninstall Ofice then right click Start and select Explore. Go to Program Files and delete any folders containing Office Information.

2. Click Start and type Regedit and click Enter. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft and delete any entry concerning Microsoft Office.
