Thxs for your response, well i downloaded both of those progams and the
HDLED just flashes on taskbar to show the activity but does not actually tell you whats using it and the drivemon doe not really help either it just basicly tells me how much space i have on my hddrive etc
I dont think its a program but more of a windows one as it starts to happen almost as soon as vista is loaded, to be more acurate the hddrive led is running constant for 1st 10 mins on every startup which dramaticly reduces performance after that it settles down its very confusing never happened on xp
