Yes, Updates changes existing File inside the OS so Basically, There shouldn't be a difference between a Clean Vista installation and one with all the Patches installed, But there is !
And because of this, i try to minimize that Difference on my Images by eather, Delete some "Magical" Updates Cache, or if i can't, Move it to another Partition.
Hope this makes more sense.
