Dual Boot and subsequent deletion of XP

Hey guys

I had XP installed for quite a while, however I purchased Vista during the middle of 2007 and installed it on a separate drive and ran a dual boot. I am now satisfied that Vista is working enough for me to ditch XP, however I found that when I deleted XP, I could no longer boot into Vista due to various booting errors. So I had to re-install XP and play about with fixing the boot files with VistaBootPro and using my Vista DVD in repair mode.

I suspect that XP was the system drive and so the boot files were on there when I deleted. What I want to know is, if there is any way I can get rid of XP and still be able to boot into Vista?

many thanks in advance
Andy
