Vista install problem with RAM | |
Please be advised that installation of Vista is a potential problem if too much RAM is installed.
On ASUS P5E3 Deluxe with Q6600 SLCR processor having 4G of DDR3, the Vista Ultimate would not install. Hangs during "Expanding Files" process. Removed one 2G stick per recommendation of Airman and system installed.
Fair warning and hopefully a help to those others so you do not spend a day swapping equipment like me before really knowing the problem. |
