Hi Crabby ... Thanks for the clarification on blued-status. When I un-blue but leave the box unchecked then apply>ok, on re-opening file mgr that box is always blued again, reset.

And I already took ownership but it didn't affect anything, which is partly why I was wondering if there was ambiguity in the prompt to use the file manager to turn off the read-only option of *the* file, in case *the* file (unidentified) was not one from the prog folder anyway ..
