For those who are accustomed to using briefcase under Win XP, MS included it in Vista so you can continue synchronizing your files. The briefcase is excellent to keep files in sync between two PCs that are not on the same network. Here are steps to using briefcase:

1. On your desktop or folder, right-click > select New > Briefcase
2. Rename your Briefcase (optional)
3. Drag or copy any files you want to sync into the briefcase
4. Right-click the Briefcase and select “Send to” and choose the removable media you want to copy it to
5. Remove the removable media, insert it into the second PC, open the briefcase and make any changes you want to the files and save the changes (Note: do not copy the briefcase to the second PC)
6. Reinsert the media into the first PC, right-click the Briefcase and select Update All

If you are using Briefcase over a network, simply move the Briefcase to the second PC, and once you or the other user has made changes to the files, right-click the Briefcase and select Update All
