Install went bad

I burnt the dvd iso for beta 2 and ran the install and chose to do a clean install to my d drive which has no OS. however after it tried to continue install at some point it had some major error and tried to roll back what had been done. come to find out it looks like it tried to install all these system files to my C drive not D drive! so i let it do its thing suposedly suposed to remove all the crap it installed which it did not. there was 3gigs worth of install stuff on the c drive not where it should be. i deleted all that and tried a system restore and yet the stupid boot manager keeps coming up lookin for the other OS and i have to continue and go choose "earlier version of windows" option. how do i get rid of this boot manager. i was reading vista doesnt use boot.ini which would explain why there was nothing to remove from there. thats just great and this bcdedit program doesnt run either yet the loader continues to pop up after every restart. sorry bout being long winded but yea thats the problem. would someone please give me some insight here. im lost. thanks a lot.
