Very good Snuffy. This is the issue I have been raising forever. What happens after one has upgraded from XP and then wants, or needs, to reinstall Vista cleanly? I am not surprised at the answer MS tech gave since MS apparently is not prepared to deal with the issue. And, this is the reason that I won't be upgrading any of my XP installations. I bought OEM Ultimate for my desktop. And, both TechNet and MS told me not to worry about continuing to use my TechNet Vista on my laptop (for the reason we are talking about) since I have an Express Upgrade to Vista and several legitimate XP disks/keys. All I can say is "good grief Charlie Brown." |
