So a nightly update is what that means?
Is the question about disliking BETA Ware directed to me?
I never meant to give that impression. If I knew more, (a lot more) nothing would thrill me more than to be a beta tester! I love playing with new (to me) software! In November when I first played with it at Future Shop, I would have bought it then if I could have. But they weren't selling any with Vista pre-loaded yet.

Yep. It was love at first sight! Literally! I haunted the tech shops to get to know my way around it, until I was able to get my own system.

OK, just asking. Have you joined any of the Beta test(s)?
1. Windows Live One Care?
2. Live Writer?
3. Windows Home Server ?
4. FF Beta Test?
5. Microsoft Game Studios Beta Program ?
6. Windows Live betas ?
7. Windows Live Mail desktop - Public Beta ?
This is a very very small list of available Beta tests.
How many do you belong too? There have been more than one offers posted on VB site.

I was interested in the first post concerning Firefox, that's why I asked about a term which I had never heard before. Until I joined this forum I didn't know about available programs for volunteers to beta test. So no I haven't yet. Doesn't a beta tester have to have programming and debugging knowledge? At this point I doubt very much that I would be able to add any valuable input as I have nowhere near enough knowledge on those subjects.

Exclamation Beta Testing is Fun

No, you do not PROGRAM when you BETA TEST.
Most of the time they have specific things for you do. TESTS to run, and they also have specific ways to report BUGS...
Every *program* has a different way to test and report. and yes it can be FUN. You might install XX and FAILURE to BOOT happens, or something else.
You have to try to find out... but I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASK TO PROGRAM.. THAT IS FOR programmers, and the more different system configs they can test on helps get ready for the WORLD... some time when you ask, I had one question " what type of ISP are you on?" the answer was PPPOE, I now have a FREE Internet shaper that works RATHER WELL. It adds about 28s to my start time... but I have seen speeds increase... Currently I have START from COLD to 1st snd=57s, 2n snd=1m31s, FULL UP is 2m27s with the AV taking about 20sec to scan all before it releases and I can surf.

I also have been Beta testing due to my DSL connection is WIRELESS.
(that will start many discussions- since DSL can not be Wireless.)

Windows Live EMail gave me 500MB of FREE linkable WebSpace..

Yes, I knew that,(about the programming) already, I phrased it wrong. I should have said coding, because I thought that at least a knowledge of the language was needed in order to pinpoint problem areas. ( I am still clueless in that regard.)
Thanks for the other info though. I really appreciate it. I don't have enough confidence to start experimenting too much yet on my good computers with anything which, to me is still out of my league. A failure to boot would not be fun for me yet.
As I have said before, I'm new to all of this. Just a rookie., but I learn something every time I visit here, thanks again.
