On August 15, Microsoft released to a select set of testers a first beta drop of Service Pack (SP) 1 for Office 2007. What's in it? When's the final release due? Microsoft won't say.

Although everyone and his brother predicted that Microsoft would make the performance and reliability hotfix packs for Windows Vista available via Windows Update on this Patch Tuesday, that didn't turn out to be the case.

Build No. 6001.16549 of Vista Service Pack 1 -- which Microsoft now is confirming as one of the "early, pre-beta test builds that were made available to a select group of testers" -- has made its way onto torrents all over the Web over the past few days. The first reviews are starting to come in.

I found loads of sites hosting this torrent, I won't be downloading it but just to see how wide it had spread and the list is huge!

Yes, many sites claim to have it, and many sites are only double-click sites... which do not have the actual .iso .... many sites are bogus, but ppl still 2xclick... when you get there its FAKE.. or 505 or Page removed due to or 404.
I checked out 20 sites and found 3 actually had the .iso - if you want the
KB files (hotfixes), turn on Auto update and verify your version is legal ... then download the official upgrades which are not included in the auto upgrades...

Also, if you do download it, better be prepared, as many downloads include Trojan viruses and the likes. Additionally, at over 3.5GB it could take a while to download and at the end of the download, after all the waiting, you might just end up with a fake file.

I understand hard core users wanting a hand on the file, but at the end of the day, after it has been installed, most will not experience many differences.
