| Microsoft dumps "unpopular" IE7+ 5th August 2006 Dan Warne Internet, Windows Microsoft announced this morning Australian time that it has dropped the unpopular "Internet Explorer 7+" name for the version of IE7 that will come in Windows Vista. "The feedback we got ... was overwhelming - many of you didn’t like it," wrote Tony Chor, Group Program Manager for Internet Explorer 7. Microsoft now says the two different versions of IE7 will be called: For Windows XP: “Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP” For Windows Vista: “Windows Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista” "We’re glad we checked with you all before we shipped so we didn’t go out with an unpopular name," he said.
