| More performance updates, fixes for Vista released in advance of SP1 Yesterday, October 03, 2007, | jeremy@arstechnica.com (Jeremy Reimer)Published: October 03, 2007 - 09:45PM CT Microsoft has revealed five new hotfixes scheduled for inclusion in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 that were not previously available to SP1 beta testers. One addresses performance and reliability, and cuts boot times. <|>Windows Vista is either a smash hit if you listen to Microsoft or a slow burn if you consider how it has failed to ignite PC sales. Despite lots of eye candy and new features, the general impression of Vista—especially in business environments—is that one should wait until Service Pack 1 (SP1) is released before even thinking of upgrading. Microsoft, understandably, wants to get SP1 out the door as soon as possible while also ensuring that it represents a significant upgrade for users. To this end, the software giant is preparing five new updates that were not previously part of the Vista SP1 beta. 1. comprehensive reliability, compatibility, and stability update (KB 941649) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en 2. an MSXML Reliability update (KB 941833), I posted earlier on all except this one. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en 3. (KB 941651) is aimed at Windows Media Player 11 - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en 4. on deck is a USB update (KB 941600) - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en 5. Finally, KB 941229 is a cumulative update for Windows Media Center (included in Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate editions) - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en Thanks to Felix for posting the links earlier..My BAD Microsoft has been rolling out various Vista fixes as "recommended" but not "important" as downloads on their web site, including two reliability and compatibility packs. These fixes are also scheduled to be rolled up as part of SP1. While these fixes (including the those above) are available to download now, Microsoft recommends that customers who are not experiencing problems wait until they are released as part of SP1, as the fixes themselves may end up being improved through further testing. <|> I found all mentioned on the Windows download Site - See above links. which all LEGIT users should know,[you have to validate to get] and Pirate users DO NOT USE. You can find these Updates from the control panel, and click Updates, then check for updates. To see if you have them instead of click check for updates, click view update history.
