Either Adapt and keep things Faster, Smaller or someone else will do it and make the $$$$$.

I can remember, and WOW 56k modems were the thing back when.
the V.92 and now some have 6MB speeds... I'm still ticking at 750 kb to 1.2 MB. WOW
I remember when AOL was the most popular ISP going...wonder what happened, they did not adapt. instead they started forcing you to use THERE BROWSER. They SHUTDOWN the P2P over AOL, They admitted they stored every thing you ever typed on there HD's. They sold that info. They forced you to stay online or they would log you off.
AOL was but is no more ... not sure but AOL was the first (that I remember) to out source to India.

AOL is AOhell and thats the strange thing Ant We think Windows Vista is good now what about in 2050? Just as people said windows 95 was amazing at the time (and rightly so)

Ant, you are so correct. There is a saying; “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” However, if MS would had adapted that way of thinking when it developed Win 95, you are right; what type of world would we be right now. But more importantly, where would MS be right now?

And Snuffy, you provided some good example, especially AOL. They had a good product and decided to milk it for everything it had without feeding it. Meanwhile other ISP began to offer the same service, internet access, for half the price and the rest is history.

That’s why I don’t think it’s to early for MS to talk about Office 14, new OS, etc. In this business, if you sneeze, you lose.

exactly Josh, now ur getting the hang of it . As for AOL whats the deal? i have been with them years and had no problems, no slow down, no disconnections. As long as you don't install there software your fine there customer service may suck but i wouldn't know as i have never had to ring them Maybe its just Americans that have the problems??

AOL here in the US is just about dead. They were charging about $23.00 US for regular internet access, got too many people angry, became too cocky and did not innovate.

Yes i know you are from the UK josh, but you are the first UK individual that I have seen that has had a bad experience with AOL compared to the thousands that i have seen from USA
