| Thanks Snuffy, that's good info. But slipstreaming Office is a little different.I found this: How can I slipstream service packs into Office System (2003)? at http://www.petri.co.il/office_system...pstreaming.htm. It include instructions for Sp1 and SP2, but should work with SP3 as well. I will try it next week and report my results. |

| First thing first: I have not tried slipstreaming Office 2003 and SP3. I just want to report and issue and solutions to Office 2003 SP3. When you try to install the SP3 update, you may get the following error message: The update cannot be applied. There are two solutions; one from Microsoft and the other from yours truly. The solution from MS calls for modifying the registry, which I like to keep users away from. See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884298. My solution is simpler, but only works if you have the Office 2003 CD. Just insert the CD and do a repair installation. The repair installation option is part of Office 2003 disc utility and will correct the issue without the risk of messing up the registry.
