What I'd try to do is
1. Force a reboot... use the restart button and let the boot go as far as possible then - reboot with restart button.... you can do this up to 3 times.
2. If the 3 restart does not finish the boot sequence.... then try safe mode...
then run again Vista advisor... to see what is not compatible. if you know then force remove it...

3. if nothing works then boot to cmd.prompt..

rstrui.exe /offline:C:\windows

let me know.

You shouldn't have to wait long; the way things are quickly moving lately. MS has been criticized and they are trying to get things going much faster. Why some people are having issues is beyond my comprehension, but I suspect that even when the final SP1 comes around, some people are going to experience a few issues. I haven’t have any issues on this side, whether with SP1 or Vista in general; let’s see what happens when it’s time to go for the final edition.

I don't think you'll be disappointed this time around. The installation went a lot smoother now on my laptop. I still have a little glitch with IE7, but overall it's working fine. My laptop does not support aero, so I can't say much about that, but I suspect that it'll work better than before.

Glad is working out for you this time around. It's a great improvement to Vista, though I think MS has been dragging their feet for too long on it. In addition to ProCookie's review, http://www.procookie.co.uk/, an article just came out from PC World, http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,13...l?tk=nl_wvxnws.
