| Even though these versions of Windows are smart enough to know about DST, they're not smart enough to know about the Energy Policy Act, so you'll have to install an update that will make the change. The only exception for this is Windows Vista. If you buy a new computer that runs Windows Vista, the updates are already installed. Another FIRST for VISTA ![]()

| The reason was the resent change to daylight saving time. But you are right, the engineers should be able to apply this update very quickly to any system. Business need to pay close attention to this issue, especially those who use those handheld devices or they may awake to a few surprises. On the other hand, it might just be another Y2K!

| What is Energy Policy Act? and im guessing Daylight savings is similar to what we call GMT (greenwich mean time)??DST gives more daylight hours during the warmer months of the year. I think the idea is to give people more time to play during this period. Personally, I don't like it. It stays light too long for me in areas in which it applies.

| Hi Ant: DST doesn't happen in Arizona. So, I don't pay much attention to it. I think it came from an anti energy act. It gives more daylight hours in the warmer months so people can play longer each day. Personally, I did not like it when I had it. Too much of a good thing is not a good thing IMO.

| Yes the clock changes on a Sunday. I don't mind during the fall, because the clock is move back and gives an extra hour of sleep on that firts Monday. But in Spring the clocks moves forward, so four in the morning is now five in the morning, it makes it hard to get up. |
