| I do not know what you found at 148.91 MB, but Vista SP1 is a FULL complete Vista.. it is Vista RTM-OEM with all the UPDATES slipstreamed into it, and all the NEW NEVER RELEASED goodies that MS is considering. some examples: Quote:

| There's one update that will be very useful for those who purchase a Vista PC without the Vista DVD; it's called Create Recovery Disc. It let users build a recovery DVD for their system. This feature, available in Win XP, can be very useful. |

| NO, upgrade is not disabled currently. If you can find its PIRATE. and who knows what they do..since it not official. Many Pirate DL's are well (IMHO) not trust worthy. Torrents are know to be hacked and filled or missing items. the only way I know to verify is use: Quote:
But when and if the "Official Version" is released, I'm sure someone will post the link here. Seems there is more than one SPECIAL MEMBER in VB that have access to Special Downloads.

| 6001.16549.070628-1825_x86fre_client_en-us-fb1cfre_en_dvd.iso Where do you find the rest of that information? If I had that file and tried to install it it would say.. upgrade disabled. Or how do you do an upgrade using Visat Premium? 3.06 GB (3,293,831,168 bytes) |

| Theoretically, if you have 32 bit vista installed it should be upgradable. But either way, you obviously don't have legitimate ways to obtain this .iso so best not to continue talking about it. 6001 is definately a step up, but I wouldn't say it's life altering in such a way to alter my morales crabby |

| I agree that talking about getting the ISO illegally should stop here in this forum, but there are a few of us that got it legally. Plus I don't think that talking about and speculating is illegal. We went through this when Vista went through the different stages, beta, RTM and so forth. I can say that we are looking at an update that is going to increase Vista efficiency, but it's not going to alter the OS. Vista will continue to be Vista, before and after the update. Will it be more secure after the update? I'll have to say yes, however, how long it'll stay that way will depend on how quickly hackers will start finding holes, and then will be looking at more updates and possibly SP2. |
