| Currently I can not use any SpeedBoost Devices. If I plug any Device in which I normally use for SpeedBoost the system simply CRASHES.. BSOD. instantly.. I then have to reboot about 3 times to clear all the ERRORS> Fonts are all changed, my UAC is de activated, and no Screen display. & if I leave the USB device plugged in it trys to BOOT to it.. Oh Well, such is the live of a MS Windows Beta Tester.

| OK, solution to part of the problem: Enter to Bios and remove ability to BOOT from USB. the others I'm not sure what to do... found the mouse was not working correctly and checked it was moved to highest FAST... reset to 1 spot below center, that seems OK again... reset background screen from BLACK to my favorite., have rebooted with USB Speed boost device in. NO BSOD due to not able to Boot from USB Device, also window popup ask to fix-repair current USB device. said yes.. tested device and it is in the norm for what Vista says... (12.2 MB/s) on single write... but my SATA II HD average 186.8 MB/s on same test... Quote:
I have to revise my stuff after this NEW TEST...

| Concerning SP1; I just tested Hibernation and it still sucks. I didn't like it before because the PC resumed from hibernation too slow, and I see no difference with SP1. Other than perhaps saving a little bit of electricity, I see no reason to use hibernation over the hybrid sleep mode. By the way, to turn hibernation on or off: Click Start > Type Power Options in the Search Box > Under your Preferred selected plan click Change plan settings > Click Change advanced power settings > Expand Sleep > Expand Hibernate after... > Select 'Setting in minutes' > To turn off simply highlight the minutes and hit delete (this will clear the box) |

| Seems the Watchdog has something to do with BitKeeper. | So u think this is something to worry about? It only does it the once after setup and thats it but i suppose it is a beta after all so maybe its just something they haven't tided up yet. I did virus and spyware scan and it came up with nothing plus UAC isn't alerting me. Just better to be safe than sorry. Ant |

| That's the thing, you may never know...so like you said, "Better be safe than sorry." For readers info; I created a recovery disk using SP1 “Create a Recovery Disc” application. Like I mentioned on a previous post, creating the disc requires a Windows Installation DVD, though I don't think this will be a requirement with the final version of SP1. The disc does not copy drivers or anything from the system. I booted from it and it has the same repair and diagnostic options available through the Vista DVD. It even provides the option to install Vista, even prompting for the product ID. In other words, there’s no difference in appearance and functionality between the Vista DVD and the Recovery Disc. I have not yet tested any of the options. I’ll post back when I get a chance to test all the options, especially the INSTALL option. |
