Yay! i made my first gadget for my sidebar its a bit basic but its what i was after. check it out.....it only does my tag at the momnet hoping to expand on that when i get some time

No Problem Felix, its actually quite fun when you get into it. you only need to create a few files and they can all be created with something as simple as notepad.

How to?? do you mean as in how to make this actually gadget???

Well this one is simple first of all i made the background on paint then i made a folder in the gadgets directory in my case i called it gamer.gadget. then i made the HTML file within this folder. The file included the information needed to connect to box.com and check my gamer info (basically a link). Then i used CSS in my HTML file to change how the gamer tag was displayed on my gadget, for example position, font size and such. Then i had to turn this basic HTML file into a gadget, to do this i made an XML file with the right code in this document, this code included author info, product name and version info. Then thats it really.......if i were to spend more time on this gadget i would add an options menu and an icon on the gadgets menu, eventually i will make it so anybody can type there gamer tag in the options and the tag is refreshed to show there gamer tag. This would involve me making an environmental variable on a new file called settings.HTML.

i know its only a sidebar gadget, but im hoping to publish it when its ready so i want to get it right
