Try clicking on organize and than layout and the nav pane link is there if thats the one you are looking for in Vista Explorer

.......the nav pane is ok.
Only the favorite links inside of it are missing.

ctrl+shift+I is favorites, it can be found it is also under tools on right hand side under tool bars.

also under Start -> your log in name -> make sure you have a Folder named FAVORITES...(C:\Users\Snuffy\Favorites).
