I'm so frustrated. I have a Dell laptop with Win XP that has very few problems but then a couple of months ago I bought a Dell desktop with Vista Ultimate installed. It's been one problem after the other. I've written numerous times to Microsoft and never get the courtesy of even a reply. So after googling, I found this Forum and really am hoping you can help me with several issues. I have a Treo so was told that the Vista Ultimate version is the only one compatible with my Smartphone/Palm platform. However, I still have kinks with that working correctly even though I've managed to get it installed at least. My most recent problem is that I cannot install a new screensaver without getting the error message "Debugger Detected". Nature 3D is my most recent attempt, but I just keep downloading them, they don't work and then I uninstall. I've never had a problem installing Screensavers on any computer in the past so I'm convinced it's a Vista problem. Please feel free to point me in the right direction for help with these two issues. ![]() First of all, I would like to welcome you tocarol and hope if you have any more problems just feel free to post. I'm a bit confused about the first issue you are experiencing but I think I could help you out with your screensaver problem. It could be that the screensaver program may not be compatible with Vista, so what you could is change the setup file so that it runs the screensaver in the compatibility mode of Windows XP. If you don't how to do this, it's this: Right click on the setup file -> left click properties -> at the top there are 'tabs', click on the compatibility tab -> tick 'Run this program in compatibility mode -> select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) Then run the installation and see if the screensaver runs. I hope this helps. Wiggles.

Thank you for the welcome Wiggles. I have tried your suggestion and made sure the Compatibility for Windows XP Service Pack II was checked even though this is Vista. Not only am I still unable to save screensavers, but now the only screensaver that I had been using earlier "Cities" is no longer working! I must have something corrupted or deleted. I searched this website for screensaver problems and I noticed that there isn't much... Any other ideas?

Many screensavers have not been updated to work with Vista. So you simply may have to wait. There is a suck'em and see mentality to vista right now. The probable reason there arent many posts is that many of us are happy with the vista screensavers crabby

I kind of agree with whoever started this forum topic. Im new to this site, I came on looking for the same help.... I've downloaded a screensaver from the internet (an album art one similar to the one mac users have the option to use, although it was not for macs), and it previewed fine. When I downloaded it, it does not even show up on the list of available screensavers. Any idea on how to fix it?
