Greetings from Munster, Indiana. I am new to Vista and in addition to learning how to navigate, am having a nagging problem with IE7 taking it upon itself to activate the "work offline" feature, which is certainly annoying. Anyone familiar with this problem? Thanks, du |

What hardware are you using? Router, Modem? Definately try felix's suggestion and if that doesnt work run the network wizard. It may be an issue with your LAN card or modem neing in a low power setting. We need to know what you use crabby

Sounds like u have an old connection still running, maybe you have had dial up or a different LAN card in your computer at some point, Just follow Felix's advice that should set u right. One of my older computers does this, just haven't got round to fixing it yet

Thanks for taking time to respond. I am connecting with comcast cable thru their hi speed modem. The thing is, most of the time I connect just fine, but all too often when I attempt to open a new site it will have the "work offline" setting checked. I uncheck it and run as usual. I am networked with a pc running xp pro and have no issues going online.

Can you reinstall IE7? As it comes preloaded I don't think you can download it for Vista. So I would suggest running command prompt as admin and typing SFC /scannow. If that doesnt work then bung the vista disk in and do a repair install. crabby
