Sometimes Vista refuses to allow me to send my files to the USB drive and insists that the file go to the User folders.

In the most recent of upgrades- many ppl have started having a BIG ISSUE with USB devices...My fix to solve the USB problems was

Back with use of USB ports..
solution: Follow these steps:

Click to open AutoPlay.

To never see the AutoPlay dialog box, select Take no action next to the device or disc. To choose an action each time you plug in a device or insert a disc, select Ask me every time. To have a program open automatically each time, select the program.

Then I used Explore and found that the USB DEVICE ERROR had corrupted the 1st sector of ea Device... by changing to Ask Me you can then FORMAT the device and CLEAR the corrupted sector... (It did for me any way.)

Other wise make the "Auto Start open with ASK Me Every Time."
then check the device or HDD or what every your using as USB. If the USB device was not shutoff/removed/properly it will corrupt part of it... many times DEFRAG will fix... other times you have to FORMAT again...
