hi ive just installed windows vista beta 2, and all is fine, a bit slugish in some places but i am getting a memory upgrade to solve that. aero though doesnt seem to want to work properly for me though, the features of it do such as the windows flip 3d (windows key + tab) and the glow round the exit, minimize and maximize buttons at the top. though when i try to go into the personalize settings and try to enable the transperency settings in the colour scheme and then press ok, nothing seems to happen, i open up the colour scheme window again and find that the transperency glass box unticked it self. can anyone give me an idea on why it does this?? thanks foad laptop specs: amd sempron 3000+ @ 1.8ghz 512mb ram (2x256) ati radeon express 200m wddm enabled with 32mb shared memory (proberly why but i have increased it to 128mb shared memory but it didnt do improvements and just made the system slower. |

| I have read that AERO will not work on a lot of laptops. It makes them run very very hot. It would not work on my HP Compaq NX6110 laptop at all... however on my Alienware toy it did work... but the bottom of that thing got so hot it burned my lap. Allen |

| Firstly... have you got the windows vista ATI drivers??? If not then you should do that first. Secondly... Aero requires atleast 128mb of graphics memory as you have guessed above so I would try bumping it up and if that still doesnt work then it will be because its an IGP and any snazzy graphics hate IGPs Hope the increase in shared memory works for you!!! crabby |

| Actually, AERO worked on my HP Pavillion 6140us laptop perfectly. Believe it or not, it sped up my system. It gets super hot though so thats why i purchased an antec laptop cooling pad. It works really well. Get one.

| Im not sure about this, but do not get and install Windows Vista on a PC that you bought minimum of 1 months before RC2 apeared for download, on a laptop , because the laptop might not be able to handle a lot of apps on Windows Vista, like Aero, and when it tries to handle it, the laptop might get really really hot, wich is really dangerous, for you...and your laptop. I suggest you get a laptop with Windows Vista on it, or a laptop designed for windows vista so you could upgrade, no heatness or problems. |
