HP Pavillion dv2500t, Vista Ultimate (x64) The USB drive I'm using to Backup Files is filling up too fast because Backup and Restore keeps adding new copies of unchanged files to the backup set. How can I make it only save new and modified files? Thanks. |

| Not a great answer, but, because MS is MS, I use Acronis True Image for disk imaging and GoodSync for backing up. Personally, I would forgo use of the Vista backup and imaging program.

| How have you set the back up to run in the control panel you can schedule what you want backed up and when and how often I believe when I have used it in the past. Or do the back ups manually.

Znod, Thanks for the suggestion; I think your advice about MS is on track. Actually, the Windows Backup Complete PC seems to be OK and is doing its incremental thing as advertised. But of course it won't help if I need to restore specific files from backup. I was a little put off by all the negative reviews of True Image on download.com. I am planning to give Amacom Back2Normal a trial. Any experience with it? Thanks. |

| Your are very welcome. No, I am not familiar with Back2Normal. And, I just use Acronis for disk imaging and retoring therefrom. All I know is that the program is easy to use and has never let me down on a restore. So, I'd rather fight than switch. ![]()
