| Changing Windows Default Boot Order By Kevin If you are dual booting Windows XP and Vista you know that Vista is the default operating system, however you can easily change that so XP will always start first. Here’s how. 1. Click the Start Orb and start typing system in the search box. 2. Select System from the results under Programs. 3. Click Advanced system settings. 4. Approve the UAC if prompted. 5. Click the Advanced tab, then Settings in the Startup and Recovery options. 6. Use the drop down list under Default Operating Systems to choose which Operating system you want to make the default. you can also choose how many seconds to wait before the default one boots. 7. Then click OK twice. Hybernate on/off Disable Vista’s Hibernation By Kevin OFF Click Start. Type powercfg /hibernate off Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Approve the UAC if prompted. A small command window will open for a second then disappear and then Hibernation will be disabled, and your Hibernation file will be deleted. ON Click Start. Type powercfg /hibernate on Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Approve the UAC if prompted. A small command window will open for a second then disappear and then Hibernation will be enabled again.
