I thought that I had posted the instructions for making the Sync and Windows Mobile Device Centers fully functional, but now I can't find them. Having done so, I now have, given what I want to do, a fully functioning Vista system--since I now can sync my 5.0 hand held with Outlook. 1. run regedit 2. navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft" 3. right click on Microsoft and create a new key named "WHOS" (the key to make is "key") 4. connect your device and turn it on 5. go to Windows update and check for new updates 6. you will see a new 7 MB update available for Windows Mobile Device Center 7. choose download and install 8. be patient; the install will finish eventually even though you may not see the progress bar move 9. close any screen that comes up and restart 10. then it's ![]()

| Does this apply to to Vista RTM or any of the Beta versions? I'm test running the RTM version now, and it installs a certain driver that allows me to view and edit the files on my mobile and it's storage card. But is there such a thing like active sync in Windows XP? Am I missing something, or is that the way it is? Thanks in advance. Kain |
