Hi All:

I suspected that one could reinstall RC1 by running the installer from within RC1 and that, by doing so, could solve some Vista problems. So, I have had two persistent RC1 problems: (1) my services menu stopped working and (2) I could neither install nor uninstall PC-cillin.

Reinstalling RC1 using the procedure I mentioned solved the first problem but not the second. I suspect that the procedure could solve quite a few RC1 problems--just as reinstalling XP from within XP is a good problem solver. The procedure didn't do a thing for the second problem--which I will describe in detail in the morning in a different thread.
