| 1. control panel 2. personalize 3. color and appearance 4. classic 5. advanced 6. scrowl down to icons vertical change to -17 apply ok back out then refresh your desktop when you check back it will still be at 0 so if the spacing is too small for you add some back. PS: you still have control over icon size with cntrl and up or down arrow or mouse wheel.. ![]() Last edited by Snuffy : 12-06-2006 at 12:22 AM. |

You can make changes to the way a page will print when using IE7. Here's how: 1. Press the Alt key to bring up the “classic” menu. 2. Go to File, then Page Setup 3. In the dialog box you can select Portrait or Landscape, change the margins and even print specific information by typing a variable into the header or footer boxes. For example, typing &w&bPage &p of &P in the header box denotes printing the Window title, right-aligned text and current page of blank number of pages. (See below for different variables that you can use). 1. Window title = &W 2. Page address (URL) = &u 3. Date in short format (as specified by Regional and Language Options in Control Panel) = &d 4. Date in long format (as specified by Regional and Language Options in Control Panel) = &D 5. Time (as specified by Regional and Language Options in Control Panel) = &t 6. Time in 24-hour format = &T 7. Current page number = &p 8. Total number of pages = &P 9. Right-aligned text (following &b) = &b 10. Centered text (between &b&b) = &b&b 11. A single ampersand (&) = &&

| IE7 shortcut. Use Ctrl+Enter keys of your keboard to add the "www." and ".com" in the address bar. For example, if you type "home" in the addres bar and then press Ctrl+Enter keys, you get "http://www.home.com/".

By the way, those who have a Hotmail or MSN email account should use it with Windows Live Mail. It's the perfect companion alongside Vista.

Prior to Installing Live Mail. I set all my emails to use a total different place to save other than default...in Live Email --> right corner --> show menu --> Tools --> options--> advanced --> maintenance --> storefolder -- change to a different HD\folder\subfolder "G:\email\vista_mail" works for me... find the .dbx and open with your email default...reader.. You can choose or change the applications that you would like to run with IE7, e.g. e-mail, play music, CD-burning, etc. This is how: 1. Open IE7 2. Click the Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab 3. Under Internet programs, click Set programs 4. Choose one of the four categories: Set your default programs; Associate a file type or protocol with a program; Change AutoPlay settings; Set programs access and computer defaults. 5. Click OK when finished.
