| Featured tip from MS newsletter "Exploring Windows" Jan 23, 2007. Create a new file without launching its application: Did you know that you can create and name a new text document before you even launch a text editor? Here's how: 1. Right-click your desktop. 2. Click New and then Text Document. 3. A new text document will appear on your desktop ready to be named. Type the document's title or description and you're finished. When you're ready, click the icon to launch the editor and edit the document.
