I am a bit confused by what I am finding on the web about avast! But, it appears that the 4.7.881 version of avast!, which some are calling a beta version, is mostly compatible with RC1. I have searched the avast! site for confirmation and to find beta 4.7.881--to no avail. The avast! site appears to confirm that avast! works with Vista, in general, but this confirmation could have been a pre-RC1 confirmation. Anyway, go here and then use your judgment. The poster is highly regarded. avast! info: http://forums.windowsvistageeks.org/...p?showtopic=64

| I think they are plain old avast! installers. I download the home one, although I did not try to install it yet.

| I downloaded and try Avast again, this time on Vista Starter edition, but the drivers were blocked again by Vista. Supposedly, according to Aast technicians, the drivers are blocked by Vista by mistake. Apparently, they are waiting for Microsoft to fix the problem. |
