larryb is on a distinguished road
rc 2 trouble with internet explorer


after an upgrade to RC2 my internet explorer doesnt work and even though i use firefox and have no problem when i try and use internet explore it says:

"go.microsoft.com" is not set up to establish a connection on port "world wide web service (HTTP)" on this computer. Does anyone know how to fix this i tried to research but I cant figure it out . Thanks

Might I ask you for some details about your net eg your ISP, and do you have a routor if so is it wireless or not ect. Thanks.

well i do have wireless and its comcast but have no problem with firefox or with rc1 just after the update

Mabye try uninstalling Firefox it might be blocking IE or somthing but your better off asking the others when they come on sorry.

thank you for answering so quick. My isp is comcast and I am wireless at the time I have both options available. I have no trouble with firefox nor dd i have any trouble with rc1 this just appeared after the upgrade to rc2. I would send specs but havent figured how to use snip tool and to attach to message thanks again

I dont think you can, short of using the pen on the snipping tool.

Lol, that is probably one of the most RANDOM problems I have ever heard of

This issue is NOT a good one to have Because it effects and intergrated program (cannot be uninstalled) I have been unable to find out what file is corrupt yet, and would suggest the quickest fix is to reapir your install. This is doable by booting from the disk and using advanced options I believe.

I apologise I can't be of more help, but as you say, this is a very rare occurence!

In order to get a snip, on your case, once you have the windows you want to snip the image from, click PrintScrn to capture the screen, paste it to paint, then use the Snipping tool to capture the part of the image you want to use.

Concerning Paint; sometimes using the right-click to paste your screen might not work...it happened to me a few times. If the right-click doesn't work, use the Ctrl+V keys.
