Registry Mechanic appears to work AOK in 5728. It may appear that I have a large number of registry errors (about 230), but I am not sure that they are particularly problematic. And, to really assess their number versus the numbers from other types of installations and histories, I would need comparables. In this regard, I have installed and uninstalled many programs since restarting the upgrade path with 5536. In any case, I chose not to to fix them at this point. I also chose not to optimize/compact my registry given the tiny savings in storage that would be accomplished (2%). Incidentally, I purchased the product since the trial version did not want to fix all errors on pre-5728 passes.

Thanks Znod re: Registry Mechanic. I agree with you, those trivial "errors" may include essential data, why possibly mess up the system for minor cleanup. Its useful however to chec that registry is clean after uninstalling software.

By the way I used RegOrganizer with good success in XP but not useful on 5600
