| I'm an aircraft mechanic and have a bad rotator cuff...don't need to say anymore. I'll have surgery soon. Here's another tip: If u want the Vista logo during start up; go to Start, Accessories, run. Type msconfig, on Boot tag check No GUI boot. Restart PC. |

| What performance rating does your processor get Felix? Mine gets 4.1 and I have managed to get everything else above 5. I have been trying to overclock my processor but vista really doesnt like that (wont boot - BSOD) so am thinking might reinstall with it already OC'd. Ideas people!!! crabby |

Crabby, I downloaded my performance on the thread "THE" Vista Reports as written and told. Here's another tip: Be default Vista place larger Icons on your Start bar. U can change this by going to Start, do right click, properties, Customize, scroll down all the way to the bottom and uncheck "Use large icons". Ur font should stay the same size. Happy computing. |

| Had u noticed the new and improved control panel? Check them out: Network Center. Use it to view your network and find problems with ur connection. Parental Controls. Now if u have kids, there won't be a need to buy a third party parental control software. Pen and Input Devices. Excellent feature, especially if u own a notebook or tablet PC. And don't fprget the tablet PC Settings. Sync Center. Nice feature that allows u to syncronize PDAs, MP3 players, and other devices. Speech recognition. U can train your PC to understand ur spoken words, even with an accent. Windows Defender. Also, available for WinXP. Allows u to check for software that could harm ur PC, it scan ur PC and protects it from malware. • Windows SideShow. You can use the Windows SideShow to connect a secondary display that accesses information like e-mail or media from a mobile phone or other mobile device. And you can use Windows SideShow to check your mail while you are away from your computer. Last edited by felix8406 : 09-14-2006 at 05:09 AM. |

What’s Windows SideShow? Basically it allows u to interact with ur PC when it is off, or when u don’t have access to keyboard, mouse, and monitor. For example, u r on a meeting and need access to ur email. Instead of turning ur laptop on, u can quickly look at a display put up on the outside of ur laptop. The display can be setup to turn the PC on and off to do specific tasks. It can also be program to let u know about the next meeting, or even control Media Player to play music without opening the laptop. U can use auxiliary displays as hand-held devices to communicate with ur PC through Bluetooth or regular wireless connections, e.g. cell phones. This way u can control a Media Center PC remotely to watch movies, play music view a slideshow, etc. |
