| hi guys.. I've been trying to delete some folders from the users folder.. those are Contacts, Favorites, and Desktop.. every time I delete those three, they always show up again.. I noticed that Favorites folder will show up everytime I open IE.. and if I delete Desktop folder, some errors will pop-up when I browse through my PC, so I restore the Desktop folder back again.. 1. is there any way to stop 3 of them from showing again without getting errors? 2. is there any way to remove the Sidebar tray icon? 3. how can I customize folders UI? I wanna add "Up" button besides Back - Forward buttons like XP has it.. thanks in advance.. |

| Hi and welcome to Vista Babble, the 3 folders you are trying to delete, are Essential. Meaning windows requires these folders thats why they keep reappearing, Although it could be possible to delete them It would have a very negative impact on your system as Vista would not have a place to store info such as favorites, contacts and desktop items. Secondly you can hide your sidebar icon by right clicking start properties then notification area then hide, To permanently get rid of this icon i suggest looking into getting a third party tweaking application. At the moment I'm unsure if theres one out for Vista that can do this. Lastly I'm unsure of what you mean by Up button, its been such along time since i used Windows XP. But i do know there is a back and forward navigation buttons that sound like they do the same function as the one you mention. Hope this helps. Anthony

| I am trying to remember the "up" button too. Only one I remember is when you save a file, pic, etc the "save" window had a up button. It does not show up in Vista though. I do miss customizing these buttons because I like to have a Delete button in my toolbar.
