Purchased a new computer from Fry's with AMD64 and Windows Vista. The computer is so slow that it ALWAYS says "Unable to display webpage" and gives the check connection message. The connection is a high speed DSL and there is no problem with it (other computers use same connection). The problem appears to be with Windows Vista and IE timing out before connecting to any web site. IE times out about 70% of the time and recovers with one or more attempts to reconnect using the refresh button. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Neal |

| Use the Vista diagnose and repair for that internet connection... I have found it will fix 99.9% of all errors. post back on what error is and if Vista fixes. also what is your error? 404 or 505 or what?

| Try downloading and using Firefox. If you still get the same issue with Firefox, your issue is with Vista. If you get to the net just fine with Firefox, your issue, most like, is IE7. You can also try this: On IE7, got to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Select "Automatically detect settings"
