My 4 GB Corsair Voyager does not work. But, I would guess that it is common for some examples of a given model not to work. My 4 GB Apacer Handy Steno worked, but it died. Apparently the Apacer is what MS used when testing ReadyBoost.

When you say that your Apacer does not work, what exactly is it doing or not doing? By the way, Super Talent has announced a 1GB and 2GB USB ReadyBoost drives for $29 and $59 respectively.

I couldn't do anything with it--e.g., format it, get its properties, open it, etc. I liked it although it was a tad big. I deep sixed it.

So it basically doesn't work, but has really nothing to do with ReadyBoost.

Right, it worked fine as a ReadyBoost device. And, it lived a full live, with a highly premature death.

I currently have ReadyBoost working on my system. I'm using a 2GB Sandisk SD card with an internal media reader.
It recognized the card and asked me if I wanted to use it as a ReadyBoost drive.
I also formatted it as NTFS.

I was kind of thinking that a SD card might live longer than a flash drive, and besides, I can still shut the front of my case and I don't have a flash drive sticking out the back.
I've also heard some things about the lifespan of USB flash drives, and it wasn't good.

It seems to be working great, and I do notice a difference if I remove it.

Me too exactly, except I have never been able to perceive a difference.

Wish I could get my desktop internal card reader to work with readyboost. I like the SD card because it doesn't stick out like the USB drive does. I'm thinking about replacing the card reader with one that will work with readyboost, anyone has any suggestions as to which one might work?
