Earlier we discussed Corsair and Apacer flash devices.
How are they identified as "ready and or "optomized".
.
Check out the Apacers here:

I have the 4 GB version of this one (including the base):

It takes a little work to boot from a flash device. You can boot Vista, for example, but I have never gone through the process since I have no need to do boot from a flash device.

A bootable flash drive will let install Win XP from a flash drive. You can create a bootable of your Win XP just in case something happens to your XP installation. At the moment there's not method for creating a bootable Vista flash drive, that I know of, but I'm sure it will happen. See snip

The references to the new Corsair 16 GB always discuss their bootability and their ability to boot "the" Windows operating system. They never come out and say Vista, but, I guess we'll see. Here is one such link: http://news.thomasnet.com/fullstory/501690/264. I can't find a link to anyone who refers to having done a Vista flash-drive boot yet.

flash disk bootable Vista

.
Several weeks ago I purchased an oem Version 2002 Windows XP Professional w/Vista Upgrade Coupon.
.
The next course of action seems to be install XP on a HD or flash drive and Vista on a flash drive when it arrives. Any instructions or do's and don'ts?
Including Motherboard selection...

Can you be more specific. Do you have sources or directives?

Congratulations on your purchase. Making the next step flash-drive booting doesn't seem like the right second step to me. You can always boot from the XP Pro CD if you need to boot to boot for XP purposes--at least before you upgrade. A more logical second step to me would be to buy an external drive for backing up files and making disk images of your hard drive both before and after upgrading. Of course, you can do the same thing with DVD's or to some extent CD's.

Can you explain what a Vista flash drive boot is/would be? Are you talking about an installed Vista on a flash drive?
