| God find and excellent article. About SuperFetch, didn’t Microsoft try a similar feature on Win XP when it first came out? I thought I read this somewhere many years back. Concerning ReadyBoost, I believe one key word is enhanced. Like I mentioned on other posts, when Vista recognizes a device for ReadyBoost, it does not necessarily means that the device is going to provide all the performance increases that an enhanced drive can provide. It’ll help, but the user is not going to see much increase in performance.

| Yes, the key thing for a flash device is that it has been enhanced, or optimized, for Vista.

. How can you determine if a flash device is enhanced or optomized? answer: forget optomized the blisterpack may read Enhanced for ReadyBoost as on the Apacer HT203 200X. . note: In perfaccel.doc there is a reference to "Prefetch" in XP, and it's limitations as compared to "Superfetch" in Vista. . | It will have an indication on its package. And, any website selling flash devices should provide such an indication. If not, then you can't be sure it is optimized for Vista. Many are "Vista ready" in the sense that they will work as ReadyBoost devices. But, their performance may not be very good if they have not been optimized for Vista.

. You are saying that the flash device should be identified by the manufacturer and the seller, and should be identified as "ready", and or optomized". . Earlier we discussed Corsair and Apacer flash devices. How are they identified as "ready and or "optomized". . |

| The package of the drive will have the Vista logo indicating that it's in fact certified to use as ReadyBoost (see snip).
