Holy smokes friends, I just used Windows Update to update the driver for my Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection. 5384 suddenly feels like a finished product. Some little woes may come back, but I suspect not. Right now everything is very, very "crisp." My internet and network connections all are right on--very fast and accurate. And, my network printer connection problem seems long gone. If my excitement has caused me to take a temporary aberation too seriously, then I'll post back. But, I think not. The current fix is well beyond what uninstalling my Synpatics driver did. And, here is another interesting part. All my folders, files, programs, the control panel, and its sub-panels, seem to be working as on a finished product--all fast and crisp. Yeehaaa, and woooo! And, my performance rating went from a 1 to a 2--which seems pretty significant. I added Avast today, and it is working great. Now, if I could just figure out a way to get the Aero glitz. I have a feeling that if we keep doing the Windows updates, as they apply to our systems, and adding needed things that work, then we may end up with a pretty good product long before the real one comes out--maybe now for me. to me this month.

| Great! And i agree about the "crispness" of the OS. "Crisp" is exactly the same word I keep using to describe it.

| I was having some general network problems. I focused here mainly on my connectivity problem. But, I also had some other networking problems (hard to connect to other computers sometimes and couldn't stay connected to a network priinter). All is well now. Thanks. I like Vista very well--although I can't get the Aero glitz. As dazzlin mentioned once, everything seems better organized in the control panel. And, the control panel provides better and expanded options. The speed, as compared to my XP Pro drive is very good. I am not really sure which is the faster. In this regard, my XP Pro drive is a 7200 RPMer, while my Vista drive is a 5400 RPMer.
