You said you dont really care about graphics, so processor is more important. Intel all the way atm. Any Intel chip graphics will run much worse than an ATI or Nvidia chip and will most likely not have its own dedicated resources. crabby

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/resultscompare.aspx/notebooks?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&p=inspn_1501~i nspn_6400~inspnnb_1521~ Right I have found the Dell laptop thing and now I need you help in comparing theses 3. Yet the 1501 and 6400 look the best so far to me but please don't discount the 1521. Remember I have UP TO £600 (appox $1200) but would like the price to be a little cheaper if poss and try not to go over. Here is the "musts", (anything numberd the same has dual importance) 1: A processor that will run full AERO glass without slowing down computer 1: Min a 1gig of ram 1: Graphics that will run full AERO glass without slowing down computer (graphics need only do this) 1: Vista home Pre (must be Home Pre) 2: A Dell "TrueLife" screen (also I need to know are these the reflective kind and will they be better for my eyes?) 2: Min 2 USB ports (want 3 or 4 if poss) 3: Disk space no bigger than 80gig (and no lower than 40gig)* dont care about disk speed cheapest speed for the size Other Info. Would like to add a finish aka brighten it up a bit if enough money is left also screen cam not needed Replying to this If you want to take this up then I need the following, Which laptop started with, and each hardware change you made to it and price (so I can check I get the same result) Also do not include special offers in pricing as they change. THANKS FOR ALL YOU SUPPORT PPL!!! (good kind of shouting lol) Last edited by JoshW02@hotmail.co.uk : 09-13-2007 at 07:46 PM.

I personally think that this would be a perfect time to wait a little bit and either save some money, or buy a better laptop. AMD is fixing to unveil a new version of their quad-four CPU. Although AMD unveiled the Barcelona, it'll soon announce a newer version designed specifically for laptops, with increase performance and requiring less energy. This is going to bring current CPU prices for both Intel and AMD down drastically.
