| I just came from Windows update and saw an update, (driver, I'm sure) for, it looks like, my brand of monitor. The drivers were updated (at the shop) just shortly after some black screens about a week ago, and everything's been perfect. Should I leave well enough alone?? |

| If your video driver is not (WDDM) for Vista, Yes, you will be offered a update or downdate, so that it is compliant with Vista... Remember you can always test it and if you do not like it, then use the ROLLBACK. and return to your SHOP installed version... I prefer the Vista installed drivers.. for my Video card, and also my Monitor.

| I am glad that MS did fix the driver for my LCD 19" HD Samsung Monitor.. it worked perfect with XP SP2... but with Vista I had to (always push auto sync) so the picture looked GOOD... since Vista approved the driver for it. I have never had to auto set and I have been able to use a higher resolution. It was alread HD Compliant.. SyncMaster 192MP.. it also improved the Stero sound in the Monitor...

| I think it was MS that fixed mine too. This was an optional update from Acer, the makers of this monitor. Since I had all the updates, driver updates(I actually watched, they needed me for my password so I saw it all) all has been perfect. The logon screen loads exactly the way it should and I see a little confirming thing (real fast) instead of "auto config" which I had seen every time I started up. I agree that MS did a good job here too. Thanks for getting back to me. ![]() Last edited by Vistanoob : 09-10-2007 at 01:25 AM. |
