One in Six PCs Could Be Infected With Malware Yesterday, November 02, 2007, 7:10:33 PM As many as one in six PCs may have active spyware or malware infections. I feel this is very sad, in fact. since there are know FREE programs which do a EXCELLENT job, of finding, removing such programs. Are people such MORONS that they willing give there "MONEY" and other information to CYBER THIEVES, simply FOR the STUPIDITY and NOT CARING, or is it LAZYness or "It CAN NOT HAPPEN to me".... syndrome. FREEDOWNLOAD of one. http://feeds.pcworld.com/~r/pcworld/...4/article.html

| I think it's a combination of all of those factors. I know quite a few people who don't really care, and some who think that an antivirus is adequate even if it isn't updated, and then wonder why their computers are full of malware. From what I have read children's sites can be sources of malware too so if parents arent diligent in keeping the system updated with the latest protection the kids can unwittingly introduce malware into the computers. To me targeting kids is reprehensible, or using them as unwitting enablers. |

| There are also those who just don't know. Some people purchase a PC because of need, but are not aware of the risks. For them, is like purchasing a stereo system; just plug it in, turn it on and enjoy the music.
