Software CAN access information on the HD. how do you think we save things and pull them back up? THey need to be SAVED in order for that to happen and they are saved to the HD.....

Come on MS have made it so that a Software based virus can't access infomation on the hardD. (Unless I have got the wrong end of the stick?). And your complaining about the Hardware based, sorry but I am rotf be happy with what given for once, but I see you point. (Note has been moved to different part of thread)

I don't think there is any security benefit to hardware-based encryption. That would be a speed thing, exclusively.
