Question Inbuilt Admin

Hey everyone

I am currently setting up a Web Database Application for a local company however for the information to be passed from the user interface to the database I need full access to the C:\Program Files which on the machine in question normal users don't have.

The account that is set up is part of administrators, however after doing some research I have found out that even members of 'Administrators' group have limited priviliges.

What I need to be able to do is login to the machine as the inbuilt Administrator to give me FULL access rights to all folders/sub-folders to fully test the program I have created.

I am new to Windows Vista and I am unsure how I go about logging on as the inbuilt Administrator.

Can anybody help me?

Ste

In computer management underr local user and groups. In user you will find the Full Admin disabled by default in Ultimate and Business in Premium it is another procedure. Here is the other way to do it After experimentation with both Home Basic and Home Premium, only two steps are necessary to unhide the administrator account, no registry changes are required.

Step 1: Open a command window by going to all programs -> accessories and choosing the dos box, right click and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

Step 2: type the following: net user Administrator /active:yes and hit enter

Step 3: type the following: net user Administrator Password (where Password is whatever you want the admin password to be) and hit enter

Type exit to close the dos box, reboot and your computer should present you with the option to login to your own account or the administrator account. That administrator password will be the one you set in the net user command above.
