I agree its wasn't a great situation and it is great that its fixed. But the bigger question is what has the host done to stop this from happening again?

Good point crabby we don't want this happening again as they might not be nice next time, they could delete all the posts and data resulting in a hole restoring a backup situation, So lets hope there are gonna be more security measures

It was a kernal security issue that had just recently come out with a patch. The host had plans to apply the patch this weekend. However, the jerks got to it too quickly. The patch has been applied. That particular hole is closed.
